Overview
Master Atsuo Hiruma, 5th Dan of Karate-Do Shotokai, was born in Kanagawa (Japan). He began practicing Karate at 15 years old in the Shotokai Gym in Tokyo under the tutelage of Master Shigeru Egami, disciple of Master Gichin Funakoshi. He is the European delegate of Nihon Karate-do Shotokai (N.K.S.).He moved to Spain in 1966 and is the first Japanese Karate master to arrive in our country. In 1983, the Honbu Dojo was inaugurated in Madrid, the central headquarters of Shotokai Europe. Master Hiruma's teachings are currently followed by many practitioners in Spain and other countries such as Portugal, Italy, Mexico, Cuba, Morocco and Chile.
