More than one million people take part in the pilgrimage to the village of El Rocío each year, joined by almost one hundred religious brotherhoods and associations for one of Spain’s most remarkable celebrations.
Held 50 days after Easter, the event brings together faith and festivity in a colourful annual pilgrimage to the shrine of La Blanca Paloma. Pilgrims travel to El Rocío from across Spain and beyond, heading to the village in Huelva province, around 17 kilometres from Almonte, to take part in the celebrations.
